AIMA Australia has announced the three keynote speakers for its annual forum on September 11 and Hedge Funds Rock has completed its program for the awards dinner to be held on September 12. Ticket sales for both events are now open.
The two established events have come to be known as constituting ‘hedge funds week’ as they attract a lot of subsidiary meetings from international and Australian hedge fund managers and investors who will gather at the Sydney Sofitel Wentworth, where both events are being held.
The keynote speakers announced for the AIMA Forum are: Bill Bohnsack, president of Oak Hill Advisors; David Harding, founder, chief executive and co-CIO of Winton; and, Igor Tulchinsky, founder, chairman and chief executive of WorldQuant LLC.
The AIMA Forum is a busy one-day conference, including six panel sessions plus a popular and more technical break-out stream of sessions to do with operations and regulations. Last year, there were about 400 attendees.
Hedge Funds Rock and Awards dinner rounds out the formal part of the week. What started as a charity fund raiser and rock-and-roll night, has morphed into the biggest night of the year for hedge fund managers and their supporters. It also attracts about 400 people.
Proceeds from the dinner now go to a range of charities, including the Alternative Future Foundation which was formed by the Hedge Funds Rock and Awards committee. The major sponsor is the funds administrator Mainstream.
