Investor Strategy News appoints Lachlan Maddock as editor

News

The premier newsletter in the institutional investment market space, Investor Strategy News (IS|N), has appointed Lachlan Maddock as editor, effective today. He replaces newsletter industry veteran and IS|N founder Greg Bright who will become Consulting Publisher across The Inside Network publications, and be a regular contributor.

Bright, who founded IS|N a decade ago to fill a niche in the financial services publishing market, is part of The Inside Network Group which publishes a suite of investment media titles (Rask, The Inside Investor, The Inside Adviser, Investor Strategy News).

The weekly publication, which focuses on the institutional market, has cultivated a loyal readership who appreciate its in-depth articles that take them behind the news.

  • Bright says: “In this era of 24-7 news in the financial markets, it was always my ambition to separate IS|N from the competition by using my industry network and knowledge built over 40 years to give our readers insights into why, not what, is happening.

“I now feel it’s the right time to step aside and let Lachlan take the reins. In just a short period of time, he has firmly established himself in this journalistic space, and I am confident he can take IS|N to the next level as part of The Inside Network group of publications.”

Maddock, who studied journalism and international relations at the University of Wollongong and worked at Investor Daily before joining IS|N earlier this year as a reporter, says he’s humbled to be asked to follow in the footsteps of a journalist with Greg’s pedigree in mainstream and trade media.

“I’ve learnt so much from Greg and now it’s a great opportunity for me to work for a fast-growing media company with a strong commitment to quality reporting and succinct writing. I’m looking forward to deepening our coverage of the institutional investment space, as well as helping develop The Inside Adviser and The Inside Investor.

“The great strength of these publications is the knowledge and industry experience behind them, and the time and care that goes into every story.”

Publisher, and Joint Managing Director, Drew Meredith adds: “Since Lachlan joined the group earlier this year he has impressed us with his enthusiasm, commitment and knowledge of the markets, and we are certain he will prove a worthy successor to Greg.

“I would like to thank Greg for his commitment over the past two years, ensuring that IS|N has remained a publishing force in the institutional space, and helping The Inside Network fulfil its goal of servicing the three pools of capital – institutional, wholesale and retail – with quality journalism.”
