AMP hires Dean Thomas for product and strategy role

AMP has recruited Dean Thomas, former general manager, retail wealth platforms, at NAB as its director of product, strategy and services, commencing today (January 19).

The position was formerly held by Melinda Howes, who left last year to become general manager, superannuation, at BT Financial Group.

  • Thomas, who also has experience in governance, will be involved in policy as well as overseeing the product suite for customers and advisors. He spent five years at NAB, responsible for its retail platform business, which includes the MLC Wrap, MLC Masterkey and Navigator platforms. Prior to that he was head of transformation and fund manager governance at BT Financial Group.

    Thomas has had a fairly high media profile and experience in dealing with governments and the regulators as well as general management experience in the platforms space.
