Drew departs Sunsuper for Sydney Catholics
Chris Drew
Chris Drew left Sunsuper last Friday, where he was an investment manager, to complete the new investment team at the Australian Catholic Superannuation & Retirement Fund, where he becomes the head of public markets.
He joins the other recent recruit, John Phokos, who joined from Workcover NSW earlier this month. Phokos is the head of private markets.
Drew, who had been a senior investment analyst at FuturePlus and then its associate fund Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme, started at Sunsuper as a portfolio analyst in June 2012 and was promoted to investment manager last year.
The chief investment officer of the $6.5 billion Sydney-based Catholic fund, the experienced Michael Block, took over last year from Anne Whittaker, who retired. Prior to his arrival the fund hired its chief operating officer, Paul Koenraads, who had been in a similar role at AUSCOAL. Whittaker, however, has become an investment committee member of the Christian Brothers Oceania Province fund which caters for schools in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
