Iain Perry, a former research analyst at Perpetual Investments, has been appointed head of performance analytics and investment risk at Ibbotson Associates, part of the expanding Morningstar investment management division.

Perry will be managing the daily allocation process for Ibbotson’s diversified portfolios, which total about $5 billion for Australian clients, reporting to chief investment officer Andrew Lill.

  • Morningstar this year has staffed up its Ibbotson consulting and investment management arm, recruiting Lill from AMP Capital to oversee Asia Pacific and promoting Australian Daniel Needham to the new global CIO role based in London.

Perry will work with the Ibbotson investments team to create and maintain relevant risk and attribution analysis. He will also provide support to other business areas in enhancing investment performance and growing revenues from existing and prospective clients.
